Azmandya
There was a city
on the planet Saturn
named Azmandya
though few knew of it.
There was a time
when the city was
built on stone castles
but then moved on
to modern glass towers.
Magic enchanted the city
until electric fairy lights
adorned their streets.
The people had festivals,
sharing amongst each other,
but then enjoyed feasts
at lavish restaurants.
Then I appeared,
a ferocious monster,
serpentine body and light scales,
blue lights flare
through my eyes
pouring like acid rain.
Storm clouds, maiasma
and an army of flies
follow me around
plaguing the city.
A once grand place
now becoming rubble.
Iām that damned dragon
wreaking havoc and
burdening all those before me.
Kindness became skepticism.
Civility became savagery.
Hope is fickle,
as all those who try
to kill me
meet a brutal doom
from this brutish villain.
And the citizens
feel they deserve this
for not beholding
its sorcery and
its history,
how they weep.
A behemoth existence
that terrorises everyone
we can all
only invoke that
some saviour appears
to purge my wickedness.
