The End Is You
And after the weary,
incessant frost,
a tiny daisy
blooms through the snow.
When my life meets
its final midnight, like destiny,
I’ll be next to you,
hearts beaten blue,
still, I’ll always choose you.
You stare death down
fearlessly running around.
You don’t know that
your courage inspires the petulant brat in me.
The world is bigger
than just you alone.
There’s so much life to live, I know.
But I’ll always see
you in the world, in my periphery.
Anyone smarter
would seek what might last.
Anyone stronger
would keep this in the past.
Because who would bet on chances?
Buying into frivolous romances.
But love is only for fools,
and I know it’s you I can’t lose.
I’ll stay
until you board that train.
But even then, I’d follow
after those tracks, even into tomorrow.
Whether your smiles are
for her or for me,
it doesn’t matter,
like the Cedars of God, it’s withstanding.
And the fates must despise me,
perhaps you do too.
A pen’s my birth-right, the ink bleeds.
Tragedy or legendary - it ties back to you.
And one day when
she drops your hand,
and you’ve explored every
piece of earth’s scenery.
And after I build
my senseless legacy,
and I’ve let go of my shield,
and gained a little clarity.
You’ll find me again
in our gravelled garden.
and our divine fate begins.
Until then, my dearest friend.
We’ll find our way,
and I’ll wait for that day.
For now I’ll continue to transcend,
knowing this won’t end.
