Dance of the Corpse

dusk turns to midnight.
i arise to a song owls sing.
a full moon gleams,
becoming my disco ball.

my arms swaying
Legs prancing
spinning and turning,
just for you to see

Our eyes meet,
please don’t look away,
the crowd stares in awe
and so do you.

it is enough,
this song, this dance,
you’re so dazzled,
and i am enough.

just watch how i move
the corpse dances alone
a sight to behold,
something you can’t forget.

a dance even in death,
life from my muse
and when i turn to dirt
i’d blow you away

my shattered bones,
all On display
and all that Kills me,
becomes a ballad,

but then the moon hides
a blue sky graces you
and I bow
to An encore

the song ends
i rest in my grave,
but my Tomb is here,
cementing my legacy.
you won’t ever forget

but this dance belongs to sleep.
the outside is numb,
inside is agonizing.

when I danced
nobody watched.
a song just for you
you don’t know that.

i tap My fingers,
but there is no pulse.
the damage is done,
and beauty has been buried deeper

i tried, you can’t see it
i tried, you can’t hear it
i’m trying, it’s hopeless.

it was never enough,
i was never enough
i’m not Enough

to dance like before,
to see starlight again,
i’ve turned into static,
with only time to taunt me.
