JAMES - SUMMER DREAM/WINTER BOY
James manifested in the summer
skin soft like snow.
He likes the crisp winter
combat boots and leather coats.
Enigmatic, yet pragmatic.
Magnetic, he’s apathetic.
He’ll never know how red I bloom,
or how blue I am, for I’m doomed.
He’s a revolution.
Anecdotal solution.
He’s carrying my execution,
but I’ll take the persecution.
Hair dyed like the midnight.
My hands brush through it.
We walk to our pad,
his hand brushes mine, I’m going mad.
His blazing hot rod
venturing through drive-ins,
and quaint country towns.
Our time together’s now timeless.
Maybe I’m living in
a coming-of-age reverie
where he’s Peter and I’m Wendy,
but he’s my volatile destiny.
For a snake bite could
either kill me or
it could heal me.
My choices were lost but found him.
My darling, my defender.
How he moves me is torture.
The devil to my sinner,
yet his hands lead to heaven’s gates.
I want to become
The blush on his neck.
I’m coming undone
like thread by his pockets.
A greaser’s demeanour
you could find anywhere.
But his righteousness
is his power to harness.
He’s just a summer dream.
My winter boy is a fantasy.
One day he might leave.
But his ghost will always haunt me.
